BSIMM Assessment for Datto RMM

What is the Building Security In Maturity Model
(BSIMM)?

The Building Security In Maturity Model (BSIMM) is a study of current software security initiatives (SSIs) or programs.
The BSIMM model is the world’s software security yardstick based entirely on real-world data and observed activities. BSIMM describes the set of activities practiced by the most successful software security initiatives in the world. It quantifies organizational practices based on the observation of data in more than 100 SSIs from a diverse and global collection of firms, many of which are Fortune 500.
Datto uses BSIMM to determine where we stand with our software security initiative, how we compare to other market players, and how to evolve our efforts over time.
