A lot of commercial monitoring platforms require large upfront commitments. But the nature of DevOps is rapid iteration and continuous feedback loops, which means it�s difficult to know ahead of time what tools and services will be used,which will be scaled, and when they will be scaled.This is why heavily frontloaded commercial monitoring deals generate a lot of unusedcapacity and wasted resources. I like to be able to add integrations and products as we need them. On the technical side, I prefer to try a solution that doesn�t require a significant proof of concept, but can show value almost instantly. And I especially try to assess technical scalability. As we scale, does the solution scale easily or is there a lot of work (and expense) involved to put monitoring in place?
